An emerald pool on the Sušica river

Sušica River Pools and Waterfalls, Trebinje

Sušica River Pools and Waterfalls, cascades, waterfalls and emerald natural pools in the Sušica canyon, the best way to cool off in summer.

The Sušica is a tributary of the Trebišnjica, some fifteen kilometres east of Trebinje. Its exceptionally clear, emerald water is rich in fish, which makes it a favourite with anglers and swimmers alike. Locally these swimming spots are known as the Stapovi on the Sušica.

The river pools are a unique attraction in the Trebinje area: untouched nature, cascades, waterfalls and pools in the canyon, a real escape from the hot Herzegovinian summer. The largest natural pool is the bathing area of the Jazina Club 1972 hotel.

Along the river there is also a campsite for nature lovers and a historic site, the mysterious Roman bridge at Vučija. The ruins of the medieval town of Klobuk rise above the canyon, so both places fit easily into one trip.
