Boat Rides on the Trebišnjica, Trebinje
Boat Rides on the Trebišnjica, a ride in a traditional wooden boat through town, past the Old Town, the water wheels and the Arslanagić Bridge.
In the middle of the last century some thirty traditional boats plied the Trebišnjica, and races between two of the bridges were a real town spectacle. The tradition was revived through a cross-border project funded by the European Union: ten new boats were built and the old dock restored.
The ride is a loop of about four kilometres, from the weir below the Arslanagić Bridge to the Bregovi pool, with views of the Old Town, the water wheels and the bridge. You can go with a rower or row yourself after a short lesson.
Lunches and dinners on the water are on offer too, as are stand-up paddleboards (SUP). The boats are a popular choice for special occasions, from birthdays to proposals.
